20-Year-Old Sentenced to 18 Months for Stealing Motorcycle in Lagos

A 20-year-old man, Jelili Isiaka, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison by an Ojo Magistrates Court in Lagos for stealing a motorcycle worth N700,000.

Isiaka was charged with conspiracy, stealing, and breach of peace, and he pleaded guilty to all the charges before Magistrate L.K.J. Layeni.

The court, after reviewing the case, sentenced him to six months for each of the three charges.

The prosecution, led by ASP Simon Uche, explained that Isiaka and an accomplice, who remains at large, committed the crime on August 6 at Ajangbadi in Ojo.

Uche informed the court that Isiaka stole a CT 110 Korean motorcycle belonging to Mr. Chijioke Ezriem. He pretended to pay for the motorcycle by offering bundles of paper wrapped in a nylon bag, before fleeing with the bike.

The police later apprehended Isiaka, and the charges violated sections 168, 287, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
