The Police Service Commission (PSC) has sanctioned 18 senior officers with dismissal and demoted 19 others over various acts of misconduct.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations at the PSC, following a plenary meeting held in Abuja.
The Commission addressed 109 outstanding disciplinary cases, 23 appeals and petitions, and 13 court rulings that required compliance. After thorough deliberation, the PSC decided to dismiss 18 senior police officers, including 10 Assistant Superintendents, six Deputy Superintendents, two Chief Superintendents, and one Superintendent.
In addition to the dismissals, the Commission approved the demotion of 19 senior officers. The affected personnel include one Assistant Commissioner of Police, one Chief Superintendent, two Superintendents, two Deputy Superintendents, and 13 Assistant Superintendents.
The decision underscores the PSC’s commitment to enforcing discipline and accountability within the Nigerian Police Force.
