Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, under Operation Golden Peace and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have successfully disrupted a robbery operation, rescued three kidnapped victims, and recovered weapons in a series of operations in Taraba State.
The Brigade’s Acting Assistant Public Relations Officer, Captain Oni Olubodunde, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, troops on patrol along the Takum-Katsina Ala road intercepted an ongoing robbery near Kasuwa Shenu in Takum Town. Their swift response led to the arrest of a suspect, Emmanuel Thomas Oryiman, who was reportedly found with a locally fabricated pistol and two rounds of 9mm ammunition.
In another operation on December 13, the troops responded to a distress call from Manzala village in Yoro Local Government Area regarding bandit activities. They successfully rescued three kidnapped victims, who have since been reunited with their families.
The Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and urged the public to provide credible intelligence to support ongoing security efforts in the region.
