South Korean lawmakers have impeached the acting president, Han Duck-soo, following a vote in the National Assembly on Friday.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik, confirmed the development, stating that Han actively participated in an insurrection after his predecessor declared martial law earlier this month.
“I announce that Prime Minister Han Duck-soo’s impeachment motion has passed. Out of the 192 lawmakers who voted, all 192 voted to impeach,” Woo said.
