APGA Chairman Calls for Unity After Supreme Court Ruling

National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa, has extended an olive branch to Edozie Njoku following the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming Ezeokenwa’s leadership of the party.

Despite asserting that Njoku has never been a registered member of APGA, Ezeokenwa expressed a willingness to formally welcome him into the party to foster unity.

The Supreme Court’s unanimous decision, delivered by a five-member panel led by Justice Stephen Adah, ruled that Njoku had no grounds to claim the position of APGA National Chairman and reaffirmed Ezeokenwa’s legitimacy.

Speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show, Ezeokenwa emphasized the need for reconciliation and collaboration within the party to ensure success in future elections.

He described the judgment not as a victory for celebration but as an opportunity for reflection and a call to close ranks. Ezeokenwa stressed that unity is critical as the party prepares for a significant electoral battle in 2025, particularly in the only state it currently controls.

Ezeokenwa acknowledged that some party members may have been misled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which had previously published conflicting lists of APGA’s leadership. He urged understanding and forgiveness for those who were confused, emphasizing that the Supreme Court has now provided clarity.

He reiterated that his administration is focused on reconciliation and plans to convene an executive meeting to resolve outstanding issues. “For me, it’s APGA first,” Ezeokenwa said, adding that the party would work to recruit individuals whose ideology aligns with its vision of inclusivity and progress.

Ezeokenwa called on all party members to rally behind APGA’s manifesto and ensure its message resonates nationwide. He concluded with a plea for unity, stating that entering any political contest divided would only weaken the party’s chances. For APGA, he said, the priority is moving forward as one united family.
