At least two explosive devices, suspected to have been planted by bandits, detonated at different locations in the Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
One of the incident occurred on the road between Dansadau and Malamawa, while another went off along Malele Road. Nuhu Babangida, a local resident, reported that passengers traveling in a Canter truck to the Dansadau weekly market narrowly escaped harm when the truck, loaded with grains, triggered one of the devices.
Babangida also noted that the explosions along Malamawa and Malele roads happened almost simultaneously, though no casualties were recorded.
This marks the third explosion in the Dansadau Emirate within five days, following incidents on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Earlier in the week, METROBLOG reported an incident of similar explosion where at least 12 people were killed when an explosive destroyed a bridge at Tashar Sahabi. The victims, traveling in an overloaded Golf car, were heading to Gusau from Maru when the blast occurred on Wednesday morning.
Efforts to reach the Zamfara State Police spokesperson, Yazeed Abubakar, for comments on the latest incidents were unsuccessful, as his phone was unreachable on Friday morning.
These events highlight the growing insecurity in Zamfara State, where banditry and violence have continued to destabilize communities.
