Dangote Refinery has announced a new reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.
The company’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, made the announcement through a statement posted on the refinery’s official X account on Thursday. The new ex-depot price for petrol has been set at N899.50 per litre, a drop from the previous price of N970.
Chiejina explained that this price reduction is aimed at easing transportation costs during the festive season. “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” he said.
In addition to the price cut, Dangote Refinery is offering a unique payment option. Consumers who purchase petrol on a cash basis will have the opportunity to buy an additional litre on credit, with a bank guarantee provided by Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
This price reduction follows the company’s earlier decrease in petrol prices to N970 per litre in November. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and other oil marketers have also recently reduced petrol prices at their retail outlets.
