Fuel Subsidy Removal a blessing to Nigeria, State allocations increased under Tinubu – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has stated that state governments are receiving increased funds under President Bola Tinubu’s administration due to the removal of fuel subsidies.

During an inspection of projects marking the first year of his second term, Uzodinma described the policy as a significant advantage for states.

He highlighted the benefits of subsidy removal, noting that it enhances socio-infrastructure, improves social welfare, and facilitates business operations through the development of enabling infrastructure.

According to the governor, the policy directly benefits states, providing them with increased revenue to address the needs of their citizens.

President Tinubu had announced the end of the fuel subsidy regime during his inauguration on May 29, 2023, emphasizing his administration’s decision to redirect the funds for greater economic impact.
