“I am ready for War” – Farotimi dares Afe Babalola

Human rights activist Dele Farotimi has declared his readiness to face his ongoing legal trial, stating he is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Farotimi expressed his determination and resilience, likening himself to a warrior prepared for battle.

“I am strong enough to rumble unruffled against principalities and powers, but I am human enough to shed tears of joy in appreciation of the grace of God, expressed in the concerted efforts of fellow victims,” he wrote. “My battle axes are newly sharpened, my guns primed; I am ready for war.

My resolve was NEVER tested, but I was waiting for the next round of the fight to commence. I KNEW that the first round had been lost by those responsible for my imprisonment.”

Farotimi’s statement follows his release on bail a few weeks ago by a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti.

The court had granted him bail set at N30 million after he was arrested and charged with allegedly defaming Senior Advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Afe Babalola. The activist lawyer was subsequently released after meeting the bail conditions.
