ICPC Commissions Pioneer Armed Squad

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has officially commissioned 109 personnel as members of its pioneer armed squad.

This development follows the approval by the Federal Government, through the Office of the National Security Adviser, for the commission to bear arms.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony held on Wednesday at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja, ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN), lauded the graduands for their achievement. Represented by the Director of Operations, Shehu Yahaya, the chairman described the commissioning as a significant milestone for both the personnel and the commission.

Dr. Aliyu emphasized that this initiative aligns with the commission’s commitment to strengthening its workforce to effectively combat corruption and related crimes.

He further noted that the rigorous one-month training undertaken by the personnel has equipped them with critical skills to enhance their service delivery to the commission.

“This is a historic step not only for you as graduands but also for the ICPC as we continue to build the capacity needed to fulfill our mandate of eradicating corruption and related vices,” Aliyu remarked.
