The Kogi State House of Assembly has approved the 2025 Appropriation Bill, amounting to N582.4 billion. The decision followed the adoption of the report presented by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning.
During the clause-by-clause consideration of the budget by the Committee of Supply, Speaker Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf announced that the bill allocates over N281.15 billion for recurrent expenditure, while capital expenditure is set at over N301.28 billion.
The budget, which specifies allocations to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, will take effect from January 1, 2025, and will run until December 31, 2025.
The Speaker commended the lawmakers for diligently fulfilling their legislative duties in addressing the budget.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had earlier presented the N582.4 billion appropriation bill to the Assembly on December 3, 2024, for approval.
