A member of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives, Ajang Alfred Iliya, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Iliya, who represents the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, announced his defection in a letter read by Speaker Tajudeen Abass during plenary.
This development comes just two days after another Labour Party lawmaker, Daniel Chollom, also joined the APC. Chollom, while addressing his decision in a letter read by the Speaker, cited the ongoing leadership crisis within the Labour Party and his intention to support the President in driving national development.
Similarly, about a week ago, four other Labour Party members in the House of Representatives defected to the APC, further signaling a growing wave of party shifts within the chamber.
