The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has confirmed the appointment of Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as Clerk of the Senate.
The decision was finalized during the Commission’s meeting on December 4, 2024, with the appointment effective from December 11, 2024.
A statement issued by Emmanuel Anyigor, Deputy Director of Information, on behalf of the NASC Executive Chairman, highlighted Nwoba’s previous role as Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning.
The Commission also announced several other key appointments within the National Assembly bureaucracy. Emmanuel Oda was named Deputy Clerk (Administration) of the Senate, while Vivien N. Njemanze was appointed Deputy Clerk (Administration) of the House of Representatives. Additionally, Dr. Obasi D. Ukoha now serves as Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning.
Other notable deployments include Rawlings Agada, who transitioned from Deputy Clerk (Administration) of the Senate to Deputy Clerk (Legislative) of the Senate, and Florence Kehinde A., who moved from Deputy Clerk (Administration) of the House of Representatives to Deputy Clerk (Legislative) of the House of Representatives.
In earlier decisions, NASC appointed Ogundayo Mofoluwake Olufunmilayo as Secretary of the Directorate of Special Duties, Alkali Umar Abubakar as Secretary of the Directorate of Human Resource and Staff Development, and Essien Eyo Essien as Secretary of the Directorate of Zonal Liaison Offices.
These appointments mark a significant restructuring of the National Assembly’s administrative leadership, ensuring enhanced efficiency in legislative operations.
