Netflix has addressed rumors suggesting its exit from the Nigerian market, affirming its ongoing commitment to operations in the country.
Speculation surrounding Netflix’s potential withdrawal had been fueled by Nigeria’s economic challenges and increasing regulatory pressures.
However, in a statement sent to TechCabal, Netflix clarified that it has no plans to leave the Nigerian market.
“We are not exiting Nigeria. We will continue to invest in the country’s stories to delight our members,” the company stated, emphasizing its dedication to local content.
Since entering the Nigerian market in 2016, Netflix has played a significant role in bringing Nigerian stories to a global audience, helping to elevate local content to international acclaim.
