Nigerian Skit Maker Taaooma and Husband Welcome Their First Child

Nigerian skit maker Maryam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, and her husband, Abdulazeez ‘Abula’ Greene, have announced the birth of their first child.

The couple shared the joyful news through a heartfelt Instagram video introducing their daughter, Amani Korede Makeda Greene, born on November 7, 2024.

The couple, who got engaged in October 2020, had a private wedding that came to light when Taaooma marked their first anniversary in January 2022.

Reflecting on their decision to keep their union private, Abula shared in a 2022 interview that they both agreed to shield their relationship from public scrutiny, saying, “Sometimes, the things that keep you out should be kept coded.”

Fans and well-wishers have poured in congratulatory messages on social media, celebrating the new addition to their family.

Taaooma, who studied Tourism and Travel Service Management at Kwara State University, began her journey into skit-making with the support of her husband, who taught her video editing. She rose to prominence in 2019 with a relatable skit depicting African parents taking their children to school, cementing her place in the industry as a household name.

Abula, a cinematographer, filmmaker, and talent manager, is the CEO and founder of The Greenade Company. He has directed music videos and commercials for notable artists including Zlatan, Fireboy DML, Portable, Dr. Dolor, Mohbad, Adekunle Gold, and Taaooma herself.

The couple’s announcement marks the start of an exciting new chapter, with fans eagerly sharing in their happiness.
