A bomb explosion in the Bassa community of Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, has left one person dead and four others injured.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning as the victims were on their way to their farms, according to eyewitness accounts.
Ahmed Almustapha, a resident of the area, disclosed that three of the injured victims lost their legs in the blast and are currently receiving medical care at the IBB Specialist Hospital. He noted that this marks the second bomb explosion in Bassa this month, following a similar incident two weeks ago that also claimed a life.
Almustapha, who is related to three of the victims, described the situation as dire and called on the Niger State Government and the federal government to provide assistance. He emphasized the need for support to help affected residents return to their farms and rebuild their livelihoods amidst the ongoing challenges.
