President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Jami’u Abiola as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Linguistics and Foreign Matters. The appointment took effect on November 14, 2024.
The announcement was conveyed in a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The appointment complies with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended.
Prior to this role, Jami’u Abiola served as Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice President. His new position will see him working closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he is expected to utilize his expertise in linguistics and diplomacy to strengthen Nigeria’s global engagements.
President Tinubu urged Abiola to apply his skills and experience to foster stronger international relations and advance the country’s foreign policy objectives.
