President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of eight permanent secretaries to fill existing and anticipated vacancies within the Federal Civil Service.
This announcement was made in a statement released by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday. According to the statement, the appointments were made based on a diligent and merit-based selection process overseen by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries include:
- Onwusoro Maduka Ihemelandu (Abia State)
- Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip (Bayelsa State)
- Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia (Ebonyi State)
- Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam (Enugu State)
- Kalba Danjuma Usman (Gombe State)
- Usman Salihu Aminu (Kebbi State)
- Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso (Rivers State)
- Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna State).
Onanuga noted that this marks the second set of permanent secretaries appointed by President Tinubu since taking office. The first set of appointments, announced in June 2024, included candidates from Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Jigawa, Ondo, Zamfara, as well as the South East and South-South geopolitical zones.
In his statement, President Tinubu emphasized the need for the new appointees to exhibit unwavering dedication, diligence, and innovation in their roles. He charged them to uphold the values of efficiency and professionalism in driving the government’s reform agenda and ensuring improved public service delivery to Nigerians.
The appointments align with the government’s continued efforts to strengthen the federal bureaucracy and promote inclusive representation across the nation.
