Rivers Governor Fubara Donates Fully Furnished Palace to Apara Monarch

The traditional community of the Apara people witnessed a historic milestone as Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State officially handed over a fully furnished palace to His Royal Majesty, Chike Worlu Wodo, DSSRS, Eze Oha Apara, who is the Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The governor described the palace as a testament to his administration’s commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Rivers State and honoring the traditional institutions that uphold the values and history of the people.

The event, held in the heart of Apara land, was attended by notable dignitaries, including His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi-Otu V, the Obong of Calabar, whose presence symbolized unity and respect for tradition across regions.

Speaking during the inauguration, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of preserving traditional institutions, calling the new palace a “monument to the rich cultural history of the Apara people.” He commended the leadership of Eze Wodo and underscored the critical role traditional rulers play in promoting peace and development in the state.
