UNICAL Bans Final Year Celebratory Activities, Imposes Strict Guidelines

The University of Calabar (Unical) has announced a ban on various final year celebratory activities, including the traditional signing of white shirts, final year week, and driving cars on campus during final exams.

Other prohibited activities according to management include money spraying, water rituals, alcohol consumption, and gatherings at the university’s main gate landmark, known as UNICAL Latten.

In a statement, the management urged students to return home after their final exams and reserve celebrations for the convocation ceremony, where they can celebrate with family and friends.

The university of Calabar management also took disciplinary actions against students suspended during the last final exams. As part of the process to lift their suspensions, these students are required to participate in a week-long community service, which involves cleaning and sweeping the campus.
