A suspected thief who broke into a home in Anambra State was reportedly caught by a native charm that forced him to continuously sweep the compound.

The bizarre incident came to light through a viral post shared on X (formerly Twitter), which included a video capturing the suspected burglar repeatedly sweeping the premises.

According to reports, the homeowner had fortified the property with a spiritual protective charm, which allegedly activated the moment the intruder entered. Instead of escaping, the thief was mysteriously compelled to sweep the compound over and over again.

An X user who shared the clip wrote:

“This reportedly happened in Atani, Anambra State. A thief broke into a compound while the homeowners were away. However, a charm compelled him to start sweeping the premises repeatedly. This is the moment neighbors found him and are now waiting for the homeowners to return.”

As the video circulated widely, social media users flooded the comment section with varied opinions. Some found the situation amusing, while others debated the authenticity of the claims.

While incidents of thieves being allegedly “trapped” by native charms have been reported in different parts of Nigeria, there has been no official confirmation regarding this particular case.
