The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Enema Paul, has passed away. He died early Saturday at a private hospital in Abuja after battling an undisclosed illness.
Hon. Paul, who represented the Okura State Constituency in the current 8th Assembly, had stepped down from his role as Deputy Speaker due to health challenges. He was later succeeded by Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola, representing Ibaji State Constituency.
Reacting to the news, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, expressed his condolences in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed.
The Speaker described Hon. Paul as a temperate, humble, and dedicated lawmaker who prioritized teamwork and pro-people legislation. He lauded the late legislator’s unwavering commitment to the unity and development of Kogi State.
“Rt. Hon. Enema Paul was a devoted Christian whose godliness and dedication to family values were unquestionable. He worked tirelessly for the progress of the Assembly and the state,” the Speaker stated.
He prayed for God to grant strength to Hon. Paul’s immediate family, colleagues in the Assembly, and all who mourn this profound loss.
