Kidnapped DELSU Student Regains Freedom After Ransom Payment

A student of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, in Ethiope-East Local Government Area, Miss Onos Roman, has regained her freedom following the alleged payment of a N1 million ransom to her abductors.

The victim’s elder sister, Ese, confirmed this development in a WhatsApp conversation with a correspondent on Saturday. According to Ese, her sister was released on Friday afternoon after the ransom payment was made.

“She is fine and doing well now. She has been reunited with the family,” Ese stated.

Miss Roman was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday in Abraka. During the ordeal, her abductors stripped her naked and used her mobile phone to contact her family, demanding a ransom of N1 million.

The kidnappers reportedly warned the family to pay the ransom before 1:00 pm on Friday, the same day the victim was released.

Authorities are yet to comment on the incident, and further investigations are expected to uncover more details about the case.
